Just like that I hit another milestone and again I didn’t even see it coming.
This morning, after I hit post on my Tuesday Colours, I got a notification from WordPress that I had hit 1000 posts. What the heck — really? I was a bit blown away by this.

A bit long winded I guess to hit that milestone. I must admit that I get a bit daunted to try and find a specific post to review or send to someone. I had, at one point in time, thought I would do an excel spreadsheet to keep the categories organized so I could find posts but by the time I thought about it I was already too behind. I have an incredible number of uncategorized posts. The early posts could probably all be run through an editorial eye, especially in regards to layout.
But (just learnt this morning that I could actually start a sentence with a but and not feel like a bad writer) today I am just going to celebrate a milestone. 1000 posts; a lot of words and reflections. A significant amount of pictures (so many that I had to buy space but hey I don’t drink coffee so that’s my coffee money) and a lot of tags and categories.
Thanks to all my regular readers for sticking with me. Thanks to all those that leave comments; it’s like the icing on the cake. It makes one realize that what they have written has touched a heart and mind.

I had some down time this evening and so I zipped up and grabbed the new markers and did one more picture. Once I hit post on this I am off to bed for a good sleep.

I love breaking the rules. đŸ™‚ Yeah for you for joining the club of And/But sentence starters!
And congrats on 1,000 posts. Woo Hoo.

Thanks Louise. I’ve mostly been a conformer so breaking the rules occasionally is liberating. Except for speeding tickets — they aren’t fun.

Ah thanks Elaine for being a loyal reader and for stopping by with the odd comment. It’s nice to know that the words reach and entertain others. Funny — I was thinking about you yesterday and thought about texting you but my hands were full of tomatoes. Hope all is well and yes I slept for 10 solid hours! Didn’t wake once.

Hi, Bernie – Congratulations on your 1000 posts. That’s quite an accomplishment.
I’m glad that you are feeling liberated to now begin sentences with a coordinating conjunction. It’s the same as ending sentences with a preposition. As much as second-grade teachers shudder at the thought, this is another grammar myth. When the final preposition is part of a phrasal verb or is necessary to prevent a stuffy, stilted sentence, the preposition should be kept at the end.. What are we waiting for? đŸ˜€
Yay, I’m a bit of a nerd!

Perhaps I slept through that class in high school literature but I trust your words! I skipped nutrition class in nursing and that didn’t turn out well either! Oh well it’s always great to keep learning.
I’ve always had the words inside me wanting to be put to paper so I am not surprised I am still going 6 years and 1000 posts later. On my other blog about the house it reads more like an accomplished to do list and it’s a great reference for us but not near as fun writing as these are. Thanks for reading and reaching out to engage. It’s been a pleasure to read your blog as well. Doing a series is a time consuming effort, like your hike one or my advent calendar ones for the chronicle of our Haiti medical mission. Then it takes a while to get the mojo back to write again. Looking forward to your next post. Take care Donna and thanks.

Congratulations on 1,000 posts, Bernie. A milestone for sure. I used to get similar notifications for milestones, but I don’t see them any more. Possibly, because I keep using the free site option on WordPress. These days, a lot of bloggers are falling by the wayside. Thanks for sticking around. Allan

Thanks Allan. Smart you to just keep moving and use the free option! I guess I like the continuity but am enjoying my new free one as well. Yes it seems lots of sites I go to have their last post in 2018 or even earlier. I know vlogging got big for a while but no thanks to watching me while I stutter around! Thanks for being an engaged reader and commenter.

Thanks Deb. I always knew I wanted to write. The words are eager to be put to use, so to speak, and I love the free form this blog gives me. As I said to Donna the house blog is a bit dry so to speak. This blog fills up my soul, especially when I have engaged readers and so thanks for being that.
