Tattered

The shirt isn’t old by my standards but the screen print on the front is tattered and cracked. It feels like perhaps there is a parallel here that I need to examine.

This originally started as a blog prompt post.  The theme of Sunday Stills was on numbers and so I looked through my Word Press archived media files for content. The 2 pictures that spoke to me sent the blog post in an entirely different direction but it still features numbers.

Heavy Deep Words on my Shelf

The words lie deeply layered, like leaves littering the forest floor. The many layers of the story peeling away to give rise to indigenous life now and then. The story braids its way around the microscopic world and how that impacts the lives of those who lived by the land.

#Sundaystills Right out My Door

I was going to skip this last week for a large number of reasons (and indeed may be already too late to link up) with the Sunday stills theme of the great outdoo

But…this week the theme was front and center at Nan’s house. I had enrolled my “littles” in at Timbernook for a session called “Little Wild Ones”.  This international outdoor school has a location literally right across the road from me; 1.5 km down a big hill. Our outdoor adventure included getting there.

Pause and Reflection

It was an unusual sort of day. Not due to the date but rather because of it.

I sit here quietly on top of the hill. The wind rustles through the aspen grove and the meadowlark’s call seems forlorn today.

It’s long been “my thing” and I am teaching my grandchildren to stop and appreciate the sunsets as well.

Celestial signs – it’s time

I’ve been silent for a while; pondering, listening and learning. Perhaps I can pull it all together cohesively into a post. I am willing to give it a shot because it’s about acknowledgement and  reconciliation.
