Nan and the Little’s

It’s important to me that I respect the private lives of my grandchildren and their parents but there are some photos that I can share which represents the love I feel for the two Little’s in my life. Their presence in my life is huge and I feel so blessed that I regularly get to see them for cuddles, playtime, sleepovers, story time and hugs. I have toys on every level of my house for them as well as an outside toy box. We go to the library, the pool and the playground. I am so incredibly blessed.

One knows it intrinsically. How quickly time goes by but small children really highlight that by changing so much on a regular basis. Which is why I felt it was time to add another block of photos in here. We are now 6 months into Covid19 here in 2020 and it has brought some significant changes in all our lives. No more pool time. No library play dates. The playground is borderline acceptable but now we wait our turn to play and then use hand sanitizer right after — even the 18 month old holds out his hands for it. We spent the lock down apart and used technology by video chatting daily — mostly Nan reading books but sometimes Grampa too. Or occasionally we would have a YouTube dance party. We kept the love flowing and once bubbles were allowed it was a no brainer that they were our bubble. There are struggles along the way but as a grandparent there is just so much joy that they bring to our lives.

In and out of bubbles for the last 14 months we try our best to have quality time with the Littles. The winter was a challenge but we enjoyed a lot of outside time. We had a very temperate November through to mid February (where we hit a polar vortex) so we had fires, met at the zoo, tobogganed and walked out to feed the horses. Anything to keep moving. Oh and we did manage one ski day.

And here we are — still in the pandemic and while we as adults are all vaccinated the Littles can not be so we continue to keep a fairly low profile in the outer world so that we can have time with them.
