It’s a “real thing”, honest. The prescription is simple, “Post photos of fences on Fridays.” That’s the only rule of the Fenced Friday group thst started on Flickr and moved to Instagram. The creator of the group said he didn’t like the “stringent and exclusive” rules of other groups, so he made it dead simple.
So here are some of my fresh off the post captures from this spring.

It’s arriving, in small flashes. At first I thought it was just spring. You know – more daily sunshine hours and the worst of the cold is gone although lots of snow remains. Perhaps it’s planting a few seeds that will grow up to be tomatoes & other nummy things in a few months. Might be the return to fairly decent sleeps with less back pain and therefore I am less

testy/irritable/grumpy out of sorts. But here’s the thing. I think it’s actually hope. Showing up in small flashes. In tiny little ways that kindle more hope. Some very concrete ways and some more the glimmer in the distance. I’ll take it on this roller coaster journey called life.
This isn’t your average #whatsonyourbookshelfchallenge kind of post. But it seems very fitting and a lot of fun. And seems fun is important I decided it was worthy of a post.

I’d have to say 2022 has started with a serious bang here in our household. Not of the fireworks variety unfortunately.

The theme this week is geometry. Which lead me to right angle triangles and trigonometry and how that was NOT my thing. At all. But, and it’s a good but, my best friend totally got it. So much so that she taught it to me, one of many reasons I still love her. Not surprising that she ended up as a high school math teacher; one that students gave many accolades to.

I was going to skip this last week for a large number of reasons (and indeed may be already too late to link up) with the Sunday stills theme of the great outdoo
But…this week the theme was front and center at Nan’s house. I had enrolled my “littles” in at Timbernook for a session called “Little Wild Ones”. This international outdoor school has a location literally right across the road from me; 1.5 km down a big hill. Our outdoor adventure included getting there.

I had wanted to do an emerging post with the theme about how your children and grandchildren emerge whole but their personalities take shape over time. But then somehow the post Half a life time grew out of some of those thoughts and other things just didn’t gel the way I saw them, aka the words didn’t want to come.
