Sunshine Not Tofu

I haven’t been doing so well with the walking or the writing lately. I need both of these things to keep in balance. It seems like lots of reasons along with the fact that it’s been much too dark and dreary lately.

Controlling the weather isn’t an option so somehow I have to control my reactions. I recently read an article about foods rich in Vitamin D . I’m happy to report that oatmeal, hot chocolate (milk) , salmon, mushrooms and eggs are all regulars in my life but no matter how dark it is I’m skipping the tofu.

My husband works hard to convince me that moon shine is really sunshine at night. So maybe that’s why I spend the nights awake staring at the moonlight. It’s been a stellar week for that with the last super moon of the year.  Moon Shine  rated it’s own haikus and fabulous Judy Wood photos when I was blogging daily.

It’s been more than a titch light on the sunshine lately,  so much so that I resorted to a few minutes per morning of the light. The sun comes out about 5 mins before dusk and blazes away. Then the sky clears and the stars/moon abound all night. They are still shining on my way to work but about 10 mins after the late sunrise the clouds roll in. And repeat. And repeat. And repeat. And repeat.

I try to plan my morning work break around when the sunlight might possibly come out around the old hospital wing. So if it’s a sunny day then I can at least get some natural vitamin D. The odds of seeing it after 4:15 seem low every day.

The count down is on though because in a mere 16 days the sunlight starts to return and the days get longer!! Holy smokes — I had better get at some of those winter projects I had planned.

I have had a love of the written word for my entire life. It's no surprise that eventually I found a platform where I could write. It's random; sometimes funny, occasionally sad, maybe even at times from anger and I lean towards creative photography and hands on crafts. I have a few blogs that high light these interests.
