On a Post

It’s a “real thing”, honest. The prescription is simple, “Post photos of fences on Fridays.” That’s the only rule of the Fenced Friday  group thst started on Flickr and moved to Instagram. The creator of the group said he didn’t like the “stringent and exclusive” rules of other groups, so he made it dead simple.

So here are some of my fresh off the post captures from this spring.

Meadowlark singing his/her chipper notes
Checking out the old fence posts
Searching for the “money shot”
Well really it’s all about that cute calf (yeah they are back for the summer) but there is a fence post in the photo!
Old fence posts now artistically arranged with a cute model walking by
Pretty  certain it’s not sturdy enough to climb on but that probably won’t stop this one!

That’s it. Just a fence post kind of spring “post”. Now it’s time to hit publish and grab the handlebars for an evening ride.

Too good to pass up stopping to take this photo despite the rain and wind! No filters and no edits. It was just the sun and the rain!

I have had a love of the written word for my entire life. It's no surprise that eventually I found a platform where I could write. It's random; sometimes funny, occasionally sad, maybe even at times from anger and I lean towards creative photography and hands on crafts. I have a few blogs that high light these interests.

  1. I like your photos of fences regardless of any challenge or not. I find any photo of a fence or a path soothing to see. Don’t know what that says about me, but there you go.

  2. Rural fence and landscape photos can be quite dramatic. And fences are everywhere on the Prairies. Some good shots there Bernie, especially the one with the Little looking off to the broad expanse of the prairie. Stay well. Allan

    1. I love that little old fence section in the middle of nowhere and every time the cows or the wind knock it down I build it back up. Thanks for the compliment about the photos. I also am partial to the one with the Littles. I feel like they are learning to appreciate nature out here on their walks with us. Bernie

    1. I guess the rain and the driving wind were worth it for the last photo. It’s always so crazy when it is raining and sunny at the same time isn’t it! As to uncomplicated challenges — that definitely works for me. Life throws enough challenges our way! Bernie

    1. Fencing is there but if you only focus on the posts fencing disappears. All about perspective. Yes that last one is pretty outstanding but I was getting drenched and the wind was howling at me. It was perfectly beautiful when I left for my ride!

  3. I’ve almost never followed the “Fence Friday” or other themes. I feel too fenced in with them. I suppose that means I’m not competitive enough but that’s okay.

    1. Good pun!! I like that particular one as I have a lot of fence post pictures that feature our rural life. I sort of treat it like a prompt. Thanks for stopping by Glen. Bernie
