It may be an age thing or perhaps just a life jam-packed but I’m having trouble pinpointing exactly
what the last decade held. Social media, well at least Instrgram and a few blogs, has been abuzz with these decade posts. Pictures abound of what the last ten years held. For me, and it turns out for my other half as well, it’s all a jumble.
We do know this. We added 4 people and 4 dogs in a decade. That’s a huge shift in our family dynamics and the back porch dog shenanigans. A son in law who loves to tease, a daughter in law who’s got a heart of gold and two grandchildren that hold our heartstrings.
The other major altering factor in that decade was the abrupt departure of my husband from a job he did well and enjoyed. That has reverberated in a few ways but we landed on our feet. I retired from my full time job after 38 years in the same building. It’s still tough some days but my body is sure happy I did that.
We started out strong in the travel department but for sure that changed after 2016. We did hit England (x 3), Scotland, Ireland, Portugal, France, Belgium, USA (Hawaii and California) as well as Mexico. We also did Newfoundland for a scant few days and then Ottawa for the Canada 150 celebration.
So it turns out I can remember a few things but putting a specific year to “stuff” is where I fall down. But heck I struggle to remember what year we got married so it’s definitely not an age thing seems I’ve never remembered that we’ll!
I wanted to do a collage of photos but that requires the computer (photos from 10 to 17) and the laptop (17 to now) and I can’t see that happening so I guess I will just use a super cute photo from my walk this afternoon. Seriously it doesn’t get any cuter than this!
PS one “child” convocated from U of S agriculture and one “child” became a journeyman. Both significant achievements.
PPSs and of course the house, garage, tractor shed and yard. Pretty big duh to forget all that.
