Life yesterday just rolled from one
song track to the next. Not that we always knew all the words or the tune. Well for sure tunes coming from tone deaf me are a bust but the general drift was usually evident. Except for one – had to call in an expert to get that one rolling.
A couple of hours into our journey, or is it to our destination (?), we saw a herd of antelope on one side of the road and a paddock of bison on the other side. That, of course, prompted “Where the buffalo roam, the deer and the antelope play”.
We drove out of blue skies into a few rain storms and returned to blue skies. That promoted “Mr. Golden Sun “.
I didn’t find a song that fit the fall colours, which were really spectacular. Nor did I find a harvest song but we did find three versions of “Alberta Bound”. Can’t say that we enjoyed the Brian Adams version but I enjoyed both the Gordon Lightfoot and Paul Brandt versions.
We drove by a lot of signs in 6+ hour of travel but the song wouldn’t come to me. The
few lines I knew were not enough for my travel mate to find it in her memory bucket.
After many hugs and a drink or two at our weekend retreat we had it! Every group has that one smart person who remembers so much that Google isn’t necessary! Indeed she had the tune and most of the words so if you wanted to hear the Canadian band “Five Man Electric Man” sing signs signs here it is.
Now to for some serious unconnected time hanging with my twisted sisters.

Guess you needed your regular driver 🙂

No actually we were still in Saskatchewan when we saw them. I never actually made it to Foothills country — near Rimbey for the weekend
