The Usual

It’s the usual going on in most of Canada right now. The much maligned arrival of

fall overshadows a federal election that’s been pretty interesting already. But it’s all how the hate is on for winter, how summer wasn’t hot or long enough and how fall sucks.

I’m not in that category of weather maligners. I really like fall; well truthfully I really like all four seasons. I seriously disliked living in Vancouver because rainy season doesn’t seem to have just a season but rather a life style.

I truly love the changing of the landscape from one season to the next. Yes fall can be dreary when the wind steals the colour and the sun hides. Yes winter can be cold and long although my personal sadness with winter is that we don’t have enough snow. Yes spring can be muddy and windy. Yes summer can be windy and cool. But I’ve lived elsewhere and I love it on the prairies. And because it’s my blog I can post pictures of the things I love!

I think you will have to agree that fall has a special light to it and that the colours are so spectacular. I was so lucky to spend the entire day at home on Saturday and the dog and I bad a great walk. Of course he ended it with a swim in the pond which perhaps didn’t make me super happy. It meant a bath outside at 7:30 in the dark! Which he didn’t mind because he loves a bath whenever.

It did mean I was in the right spot to see the amazing sunset! Almost as orange as the ones we painted the other night!

I have had a love of the written word for my entire life. It's no surprise that eventually I found a platform where I could write. It's random; sometimes funny, occasionally sad, maybe even at times from anger and I lean towards creative photography and hands on crafts. I have a few blogs that high light these interests.

  1. Love this — “rainy season doesn’t seem to have just a season but rather a life style.”
tee hee — I’ll have to share it with my daughter who now calls Vancouver home! 🙂
