That person

We all have that person in our lives, the one who is

incredibly hard to buy presents for. When they talk throughout the year I really try to listen and translate that into a gift.

So yes today I did a Christmas thing. In August. Of course the question is will I remember where and what it is in 4 months?

Pretty safe to blog about it though as the odds of my SIL reading this are about as good as mine of winning the lottery’ having never purchased a ticket.

So straight from the garden to the canner. A mere 15 mins later and I have two pints of canned raspberries. He remembers them fondly from his Gramma so I hope these live up to his adult expectations of his childhood memory. It’s safe to say that my sauerkraut isn’t as good as Gramma B’s and I even had her recipe. But raspberries seem pretty easy.

It’s amazing how many people think doing preserves is hard. It’s time consuming but it’s not hard. My daughter and I just did 50 lbs of peaches.

Summer goodness in the winter. Just like Gramma used to make (maybe).

Bernie

Ps I put them on the shelf in the pantry with the bottle of craft gin for my DIL!!

I have had a love of the written word for my entire life. It's no surprise that eventually I found a platform where I could write. It's random; sometimes funny, occasionally sad, maybe even at times from anger and I lean towards creative photography and hands on crafts. I have a few blogs that high light these interests.

  1. What a gorgeous red! I am attracted to deep red color these days. I am one of those people, interested in preserving process but thinking it might be hard and complicated…
