It’s unusual but Monday was one of my favourite
work days; excellent team with lots of challenges cleaning up after busy trauma weekends. I really miss Mondays and it’s often the day I’ve felt the most lost like I’m not sure how to start my week without all those elements.
Today not so. It was a marvelous Monday as momma and her littles came over to pick saskatoons. Little A also came prepared as she wanted to nap at Nan’s so she came with bear and baba.
She was also prepared for picking saskatoons and had two cups. It was adorable. She knows which ones are ripe and picks them into the cup. Then after a couple of handfuls in the cup she would drink them down! She loved helping me pick and lasted 45 mins which is pretty darn good for a two year old. Ate a LOT of berries!
A stellar lunch at the counter was indeed followed by a nap. Which means Nan then gets Baby C alone time! This was followed by a nap time for him which meant some sewing and design time for Momma and I.
I was glad it was too wet to weed so I could have such a fabulous afternoon. A quick tasty supper, some tour de France watching and then I went back to the berry patch with the two dogs. It was a quiet evening of picking alone and hanging out with the foster puppy. The afternoon rain storms meant we were pretty drenched when we got back but it was worth it for the berries and the sunset.
I think, maybe, I’m getting into the retirement mode and learning to embrace what shows up each day. It’s different, radically different, than my fulfilling and challenging professional life that I’ve now moved along from.
Marvelous Monday indeed.

Special thanks to my daughter for allowing me to use the photos of the kids.
Glad to hear that retirement is getting easier and more enjoyable. Helps to have 2 adorable grandchildren!! Those berries look good.
