It seems like an unusual tourist activty and one I didn’t see in my future. But here I am going around Scotland collecting
recipes from hotels and bars.
The food had been stellar so far although I should put a rider on that. Suppers have been amazing but I’m not a huge fan of the substantial, a bit heavy on the grease, breakfast that seems typical. I’m more of toast and peanut butter kind of morning person with maybe some yogurt and fruit later. Having said that I’m enjoying the porridge as it’s a nice change and well made.
Lunches we do our own and always have. We arrive with our little cooler, a knife and a spoon and hit the local grocery store; for a host of reasons. It’s economical, quick and easy, ready for wherever we decide to eat and it’s not too heavy of a meal.
So that leaves us with the evening meal as our splurge of the day; caloric and cost. Not that Ron cares about the calories but he’s good at encouraging me to make good choices; ie not fish and chips everyday! The selection at each place is fabulous and we’d love to go back!
Ok so I don’t always make the best choices!! I also haven’t stooped to taking a photo of everything we’ve eaten. I also didn’t set out to do a travel food blog but the relish at The Old Inn at Carbost was fabulous. When I complimented the manager and suggested they bottle it for sale she gave me a dish. Lunch tomorrow is going to be so tasty!
Now back to our regularly scheduled travel blog as soon as i finish analyzing the relish!
