It turns out that, eventually and inevitably, if you abuse something long enough it’s gonna crack. So yes, after years and years of improper care I have finallysmashed a phone. Bet that’s not what you thought I was going to say!
I dropped my first iPhone off the 4th level of the scaffolding and it didn’t break. I dropped my second iPhone a LOT of times. It had a little sanded off corner from one hard hit. I dropped my third IPhone just once too many it turns out. It wasn’t even that far of a fall but it smashed the corner and the screen. Humpty dumpty like.
Not to self — they sell cases for a reason. The kind of stupid thing is I had a case but found it made the phone bulky but so I didn’t use it so yeah it serves me right.
Which presents me with a dilemma. Neither of my previous iPhones work at all. My other half has an old Blackberry which would work till mine can be repaired. Well, at least I had a warranty which had just been used to replace the camera when it died. Time is off the essence as I really want the camera and the blogging capability for an upcoming adventure so off I go to the city today. On a day when I had seriously hoped to stay home.
Next dilemma. Pay the $105 deductible to see if it is repairable or keep the Blackberry till I upgrade in July or upgrade now?Pros and cons both ways. Upgrading to the same IPhone was more expensive than buying a new Huwaei because they had a buy back feature. So I traded in my old broken IPhone with a new camera for a brand new Android with a fabulous camera and lots of storage space.
Note to self — become more tech literate. The technology is here to stay and I try to embrace it but I do get lost on occasion. Like right now with the next dilemma. All the contacts are in the ICloud but I’m having trouble accessing it. That’s another long story. In the meantime if you text me perhaps include your name! There are only 4 phone numbers I actually remember.

Ah the sheer irony of it! I took a photo of said smashed phone, uploaded all photos to the laptop and now can’t find the damn thing. So instead I used one of the 60 pictures I have taken of crocuses this spring! They are the highlight of each day; more on that in another post.
So, would my phone number be one you remember??
