Written with Tears

There are things in life you cannot un see

There are things in life you cannot un hear

There are moments in life where hearts break

Dig deep and feel the love around you

The hands of the clock move along

The sun rises and the sun sets

The body is nourished while tears flow

Feel the love that surrounds you

Written on the anniversary of a death

Written on the night of so much death

Written for those that fight death

Written for those who witness death

Written for those in my world and around the world

Written with tears streaming down my face

Bernie

Pray for the families, the hockey world and the first responders — many who were not medical people. I feel like maybe I shouldn’t have hit post — this post is not about me except for the writing — it’s about all those others. It’s about the level of pain for others involved in this and other things around the bigger world. It’s so not about me — it’s about pain, suffering and tragedy.

I was with a fabulous OR team who pulled together last night to be ready. I’m on call today if they need me. I didn’t sleep well but it really is about others who are suffering so much more.

I have had a love of the written word for my entire life. It's no surprise that eventually I found a platform where I could write. It's random; sometimes funny, occasionally sad, maybe even at times from anger and I lean towards creative photography and hands on crafts. I have a few blogs that high light these interests.

  1. It’s so hard to find words at a time like this, isn’t it? Putting thoughts to paper may be a part of the healing process. I am so thankful for you.

    1. You were a calm organized team leader. I’m thankful for you. As a nurse we are left feeling that we wanted to do more but in light of the devastating death toll we now understand why we had so few patients.

    1. Thanks for the love but if you go back and read my morning edit to the post you will see that really it’s about the pain of others. In the end we had few patients in the OR despite being ready. The loss of so many young lives is so devastating for all and with the degree of connections in Saskatchewan we will all know someone directly impacted. I do and my heart is heavy for them and every other family, first responders, medical personnel from all over the province and the hockey world that these kids live in.
