There are things in life you cannot un see
There are things in life you cannot un hear
There are moments in life where hearts break
Dig deep and feel the love around you
The hands of the clock move along
The sun rises and the sun sets
The body is nourished while tears flow
Feel the love that surrounds you
Written on the anniversary of a death
Written on the night of so much death
Written for those that fight death
Written for those who witness death
Written for those in my world and around the world
Written with tears streaming down my face
Pray for the families, the hockey world and the first responders — many who were not medical people. I feel like maybe I shouldn’t have hit post — this post is not about me except for the writing — it’s about all those others. It’s about the level of pain for others involved in this and other things around the bigger world. It’s so not about me — it’s about pain, suffering and tragedy.
I was with a fabulous OR team who pulled together last night to be ready. I’m on call today if they need me. I didn’t sleep well but it really is about others who are suffering so much more.
