Blog Reality Check

I feel like the momentum is slowly slipping away. Summer vacation has become a memory and the thoughts and feelings from those trips are fading. The regular fall routine and all those activities replace the summmer evenings by the fire. The flowers start to falter (except for the sedum which just started blooming) and the growing season had collapsed.

At this point in time I have captured all but one of my National Park and National Historic Sites in the blog. Cyndi has done one with one waiting in the wings. Spencer has done one and plans to do two more. Sarah has done one and I’m hoping she will agree to do one or two from her trip east. Deana submitted pictures and I did one of hers. She had more pics but no text or story line. She also sent a picture about a NHS in the Kelowna area but with no context hard to do an entire blog post for one photo.

It seems like the year when so many people went to PEI, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. I was hoping for a few blogs posts from all of those trips. I’ve taken the liberty of high jacking some photos from Facebook to highlight some of the areas they saw.

I’d also asked for a Newfoundland post from someone who goes home every summer. Here is a photo of hers from Signal Hill.

An ex pat friend, who lives in Ohio, came to Point Pelee with her free pass this summer so I was really hopeful for that one as I felt it would have an interesting slant and I don’t have a lot of Ontario sites.

But alas as the memories fade so does the momentum to write, for someone else, where you went and what you did. So I am facing reality that perhaps there won’t be a lot more Canada 150 posts.  I’d love to make it to Batoche as it’s the sole Saskatchewan one that hasn’t been done. It’s close enough that it’s doable as a road trip but the fall work list seems so long.

But if anyone was still thinking about writing and puts the “pen to paper” I will ecstaticly translate that into a blog post. Meanwhile I should get back to work making Cyndi’s and mine a reality.

Canada 150 — worth celebrating and documenting and I’ve been so happy with this series to date.

Random question here though. Why isn’t Peggy’s Cove a Parks Canada site of some level? If you’ve been there and can answer this please leave a comment so I can understand why this iconic light house isn’t on the list. And Lunenberg is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and it isn’t listed. Strange bedfellows.

I have had a love of the written word for my entire life. It's no surprise that eventually I found a platform where I could write. It's random; sometimes funny, occasionally sad, maybe even at times from anger and I lean towards creative photography and hands on crafts. I have a few blogs that high light these interests.
